Cake - Digital Bank is seeking a Product Manager – SME Lending to build and scale lending products for Household Businesses (HKD) and SME customers.

You will own the end-to-end development and execution of SME lending products, with a strong focus on digital onboarding and credit limit approval journeys focusing on Partner Ecosystems. The role will work closely with Risk, Operations, Technology, Legal, Sales, and other internal stakeholders to establish the required product and operational frameworks, drive internal approvals, and deliver scalable lending solutions for HKD and SME customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. SME Lending Product Development

• Research and analyze the financing needs, business characteristics, cash flow patterns, and pain points of mSME and SME customers. 
• Design, develop, and scale lending products tailored to the financing needs of HKD and SME customers. 
• Build business cases, product strategies, and roadmaps for SME lending initiatives
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and discovery through development, launch, optimization, and scaling. 

2. Digital Onboarding & Credit Limit Approval

• Design and continuously improve digital onboarding journeys across SME lending products, ensuring seamless and scalable customer experience. 
• Develop the product and process framework for credit limit approvals through digital journeys or with support from the Operations team. 
• Work closely with Risk, Operations, Technology, Legal, and other stakeholders to define requirements and establish the necessary processes for onboarding and limit approval. 
• Drive the development, alignment, and internal approval of the required frameworks with VP-level stakeholders. 

3. Product Execution & Business Collaboration

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Risk, Operations, Legal, Sales, and other stakeholders to build, launch, and scale SME lending products. 
• Drive product execution across multiple stakeholders while managing dependencies, priorities, and timelines. 
• Work closely with Sales and relevant business teams to ensure lending products and processes effectively support customer acquisition and business growth. 
• Define product requirements, success metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). 
• Monitor product performance, gather customer and stakeholder feedback, and continuously improve products and processes based on data insights and evolving customer needs. 

4. Partnership Management

• Identify and develop strategic partnerships to expand the distribution and customer acquisition channels for SME lending products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with ecosystem partners, digital platforms, and other relevant partners serving HKD and SME customers.
• Work closely with partners to identify customer needs and develop suitable lending propositions, onboarding journeys, and partnership models.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to drive the end-to-end implementation of partnership initiatives, from solution design and alignment through launch and ongoing operations.
• Monitor partnership performance and identify opportunities to optimize existing partnerships and expand business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• Minimum 10 years of Product Management experience in digital banking, fintech, banking, or financial services, with relevant experience in lending products. 
• Strong understanding of mSME and SME customer needs, lending journeys, and financing requirements. 
• Proven experience in leading digital product development and driving products from concept through implementation and scaling. 
• Experience working with digital onboarding and/or lending approval processes is highly preferred. 
• Prior experience working closely with Sales or driving the commercial adoption of digital products. 
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive alignment and approval across Technology, Risk, Operations, Legal, Sales, and senior stakeholders. 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making capabilities. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills. 
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
