About the Role
The Projects Development Manager is responsible for managing, deploying, and driving business growth across Cake by VPBank's digital financial products portfolio (including Savings, Payments, and Lending) through an Offline-to-Online (O2O) partnership model with strategic partners.
Reporting directly to the Business Development Director, this role works closely with the partner's Project Director and sales teams to organize sales operations and optimize portfolio P&L. The role also serves as the execution coordination focal point, collaborating with internal teams (Product, Tech, Risk, Ops) to monitor the conversion funnel and promptly resolve process or technical bottlenecks, ensuring a seamless customer product experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drive Business Growth & P&L Management
- Business Strategy & P&L:Develop and execute the go-to-market plan for digital financial products, with primary focus on maximizing lending volume and disbursement revenue.
- Own P&L targets, disbursement revenue, outstanding loan balance, net deposit growth, and payment transaction volume within the partnership model.
- Sales Organization & Revenue Growth:Design sales policies, commission structures, and incentive programs to motivate the partner's sales force across each product line.
- Directly develop, or collaborate on developing, training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure partner staff have strong command of product knowledge and the O2O customer journey.
- Conduct direct field sales visits at partner business units to build and demonstrate standardized sales models before scaling system-wide.
- Sales Tools & Fraud Prevention:Collaborate with relevant departments to build sales enablement and sales management tools (such as Sales Apps, CRM tools) to optimize sales effectiveness.
- Establish control mechanisms and tools to prevent fraud risk in the deployment of credit/lending products under the Offline-to-Online model.
- Measurement & Reporting:Track business performance via project dashboards and analyze the effectiveness of each product line to adjust sales policies in a timely manner.
2. Execution Coordination / Delivery Support
(Collaborate with the Tech/Product/Ops teams on both sides to resolve operational issues as they arise)
- Conversion Funnel Optimization: Closely monitor the user journey across each product, with a focus on optimizing the lending funnel (from eKYC and credit scoring through to disbursement) to minimize drop-off rates.
- Process & Operations Bottleneck Resolution (SLA):Serve as the primary point of contact for receiving and resolving operational issues raised by partners (API connectivity errors, payment disruptions, stalled loan applications, delayed deposits/withdrawals, etc.).
- Work with Cake's Tech/Ops/Risk teams to shorten resolution time (SLA) and ensure smooth operational flow.
- Maintain regular check-in cadences (Daily Catch-ups/War Rooms) with the partner's Project Director during peak campaign periods.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with the Risk team to monitor loan portfolio quality; feed real-world sales insights back to the Product and Risk teams to support continuous improvement.
3. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Banking & Finance / Fintech / Finance Company sectors.
- Broad understanding of retail banking products; hands-on experience with lending products deployed through partner/O2O channels is a strong advantage.
- Professional Skills: Proven ability to organize, manage, and motivate a direct sales force (Offline & O2O).
- Strong funnel-oriented mindset, with solid understanding of digital credit assessment, credit scoring, and digital disbursement processes.
- Proficient in using data and reporting/dashboards to manage business targets.
- Competencies & Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and partner relationship management skills (working directly with partner Sales Leads and Project Directors).
- Strong sense of ownership and flexible problem-solving skills to coordinate internal teams (Tech, Risk, Product) in resolving bottlenecks.
- Willing to travel and work on-site at the partner's office (Hanoi).
