Role Overview
We are looking for a Tech Product Owner to join our Card team, working closely with Engineering and cross-functional teams to build and enhance Cake’s digital credit card products.
This is a hands-on product role for candidates with a strong product mindset, good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and the ability to work effectively with Engineering teams to turn business needs into well-defined, deliverable product features.
What You’ll Own
Feature Ownership
- Issuance: Digital card issuance, instant provisioning, virtual cards
- 3DS: 3DS 2.0 authentication flows and fraud prevention
- Installment: Transaction, amount, and cash installment
- Tokenization: Apple Pay, Google Pay integration
- Rewards & Loyalty: Cashback and EMOB programs
- Credit Lifecycle: Credit limit management, collections, delinquency prevention
Platform Ownership
- Cake App: Card management, transaction history, installment requests, card controls, notifications
- Cake Portal: Card issuance approval, limit adjustment, dispute handling, customer support workflows
What You’ll Do
- Act as Technical Product Owner in Agile/Scrum teams and manage the product backlog.
- Translate business and customer needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, product flows, and requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering and QA on feature development, technical feasibility, UAT, and release.
- Collaborate with Business, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to deliver products that meet customer and business needs.
- Support product discovery through market analysis, competitive research, and customer insights.
- Prioritize features based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
- Write clear product documentation with relevant API, data flow, and system integration context.
- Support end-to-end product delivery from ideation → requirements → development → UAT → launch → iteration.
What you need to be qualified
- 2+ years of experience in Technical Product Management, Product Owner, or similar product-facing roles.
- Background as Engineer, EM, or Technical Consultant is preferred.
- Banking / Fintech experience is preferred, especially in Cards, Payments, Digital Banking, Lending, or other financial products.
- Comfortable working with Engineering, QA, Business, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams.
- Understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and basic technical concepts.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and take ownership.
- Basic understanding of Credit Card products and customer journeys.
