The Card Product Manager works closely with the Head of Card Products and is responsible for the overall success of the company's card offerings. They identify and develop new business opportunities while managing existing partnerships to ensure consistent sales growth, market share leadership, and revenue maximization across all sales channels.
Key Responsibilities
Card Product Development & Management
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of debit and credit card products, from ideation and business case development to launch and ongoing enhancement.
- Conduct market, competitor, and customer analysis to identify opportunities and develop competitive card propositions.
- Define product features, customer journeys, eligibility criteria, pricing, fees, limits, benefits, and business requirements.
- Coordinate with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Marketing for product development, UAT, launch, and post-launch optimization.
Product Policy, Procedures & Governance
- Develop, review, and maintain card product policies, procedures, regulations, and business rules.
- Establish product rules covering customer eligibility, card issuance, activation, limits, fees, transactions, renewal, replacement, suspension, and termination.
- Ensure product policies and processes comply with regulatory requirements, internal governance, risk policies, and card scheme requirements.
- Review and update policies in response to changes in regulations, business requirements, risk controls, or product features.
- Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology to implement policy changes and maintain proper product documentation.
- Support audit, compliance reviews, and regulatory requirements related to card products.
Portfolio & Product Optimization
- Monitor key card performance metrics, including acquisition, activation, active rate, spending, transaction volume, revenue, and retention.
- Analyze customer behavior, feedback, and portfolio performance to identify opportunities for product and process improvement.
- Develop initiatives to drive card activation, usage, engagement, and overall business performance.
- Work with card schemes, merchants, and strategic partners to develop new card propositions and customer benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Services, preferably in Card Product Management, Card Product Development, or Card Product Policy.
- Strong understanding of debit/credit card products and the end-to-end card lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience in developing or managing product policies, procedures, business rules, or operational processes.
- Good understanding of banking regulations, risk controls, compliance requirements, and card scheme requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with Visa, Mastercard, JCB, or NAPAS is an advantage.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
