Database Operations
- Administer MySQL and PostgreSQL production databases;
- Perform database provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and migrations;
- Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures;
- Manage database users, privileges, and security policies;
- Support production releases and database deployments;
Monitoring & Performance
- Monitor database availability, replication, storage, and system health;
- Analyze slow queries and optimize database performance;
- Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis;
- Build monitoring dashboards and alerting mechanisms;
- Conduct capacity planning and health assessments.
Automation & Platform Engineering
- Develop Infrastructure as Code for database deployments;
- Build CI/CD pipelines for database lifecycle management;
- Automate provisioning, backup, maintenance, failover, and operational tasks;
- Develop reusable automation using Ansible, Bash, or Python;
- Improve deployment consistency through standardization.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Maintain high-availability database clusters;
- Perform database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management;
- Validate backup and disaster recovery readiness;
- Improve platform reliability and operational efficiency;
- Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field;
- 3+ years of experience managing production databases;
- Strong hands-on experience with both MySQL and PostgreSQL;
- Strong Linux administration skills;
- Experience with SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting;
- Experience with backup, restore, and replication technologies;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
