Summary
This role is critical to enabling reinforcement learning, imitation learning, diffusion/flow-matching models, and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) systems through scalable, realistic, and reproducible simulation. You will bridge physics, sensors, data pipelines, and real-robot deployment, ensuring simulation results transfer reliably to hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain high-fidelity humanoid simulation environments for manipulation, navigation and locomotion.
Develop simulation pipelines for RL, imitation learning, and policy evaluation at scale.
Model robot kinematics, dynamics, contacts, and actuators with realistic physics.
Implement sensor simulation (RGB, depth, stereo, tactile, force/torque, proprioception).
Support sim-to-real transfer via domain randomization, noise modeling, and calibration tools.
Integrate simulation with ROS2, training frameworks, and data logging systems.
Create tools for scenario generation, benchmarking, regression testing, and visualization.
Collaborate with AI Manipulation, Perception, Navigation, and Hardware teams to align simulation with real-world behavior.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
Strong understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, and physics-based simulation.
Hands-on experience with at least one robotics simulator (e.g., Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Gazebo).
Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
Experience integrating simulation with machine learning or robotics pipelines.
Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and real-time robotic systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting learning-based robotics (RL, imitation learning, diffusion models).
Knowledge of humanoid or legged robots.
Experience with GPU-accelerated simulation and large-scale parallel training.
Familiarity with Docker, experiment tracking, and reproducible workflows.
Experience validating sim results against real-robot data.
