ABOUT VINDYNAMICS
At VinDynamics, we design safe, affordable, and intelligent humanoid robots to assist in everyday life — robots for everyone. Backed by Vingroup, Vietnam’s leading technology conglomerate, we are on a mission to make advanced robotics accessible, reliable, and beneficial for billions of people worldwide. By combining cutting-edge AI, world-class engineering, and human-centered design, we aim to seamlessly integrate robots into daily life — enhancing safety, productivity, and happiness at home and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Wiring Harness Design and Development
Lead the design, development, and optimization of wiring harness systems for humanoid robots, from concept and prototyping through validation and production release.
Select wires, cables, connectors, terminals, shielding, and protective components based on electrical, mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing requirements.
Define harness routing, branching, retention, and protection strategies, ensuring compatibility with the robot's electrical architecture and mechanical structure.
Assess and mitigate risks related to bend radius, torsion, abrasion, fatigue, and interference, particularly around dynamic joints and moving assemblies.
Ensure reliable power distribution, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC performance through appropriate wiring, shielding, and grounding strategies.
B. Electrical Interface Design and Documentation
Develop wiring harness diagrams, pinout tables, connector interfaces, wire lists, BOMs, and manufacturing drawings based on system-level requirements.
Define connector-to-connector mapping, terminal assignments, wire specifications, and grounding requirements.
Perform electrical design calculations and reviews to verify current capacity, voltage drop, insulation ratings, electrical protection, and communication interface requirements.
Maintain accurate, traceable, and revision-controlled documentation in accordance with PLM and engineering change processes.
C. Verification, Validation, and Reliability
Plan and support design verification and validation activities, including mechanical and environmental reliability testing such as flex, torsion, vibration, and abrasion.
Troubleshoot harness-related electrical and integration issues, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability.
D. Design for Manufacturing and Production Readiness
Develop SOR documents, DFMEA documents, harness drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and inspection criteria to support prototype builds and production release.
Apply DFM, DFA, and serviceability principles to ensure harnesses are manufacturable, easy to assemble, inspect, install, and maintain.
Define critical manufacturing requirements for wire preparation, crimping, termination, connector assembly, shielding, and cable protection.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve fabrication and quality issues, improve processes, and implement design changes throughout the product lifecycle.
E. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Technical Leadership
Work closely with mechanical, firmware, and system engineering teams to ensure seamless harness integration and compliance with system requirements.
Coordinate with prototype, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams on technical feasibility, assembly, testing, and production issues.
Relevant education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
At least 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, wiring harness design, mechatronics, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience designing and developing electrical wiring harnesses for complex electromechanical products.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including power distribution, wire sizing, current-carrying capacity, voltage drop, grounding, shielding, and electrical protection.
Practical knowledge of communication interfaces and interconnect requirements, including CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, or other relevant communication technologies.
Experience selecting wires, cables, connectors, terminals, backshells, and shielding solutions based on electrical and mechanical requirements.
Proficiency with electrical and mechanical design tools, such as SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD tools.
Experience creating wiring diagrams, pinout tables, interface definitions, harness drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
Familiarity with relevant harness design, fabrication, and workmanship standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 and applicable UL requirements.
Experience with electrical testing and inspection of harness assemblies, including continuity testing, short-circuit detection, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing, as applicable.
Understanding of thermal, mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing considerations affecting harness routing and integration.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and harness-related problems during prototyping, system integration, testing, and manufacturing.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment with evolving requirements and competing priorities.
Benefits:
Attractive income, competitive and commensurate with individual capabilities.
13th-month salary, gifts on public holidays and special occasions, and performance-based bonuses.
Meal allowance, annual company trips, health insurance, and exclusive benefits within the Group’s ecosystem.
Clear career development opportunities aligned with the company’s growth, with access to training programs based on capability and job role.
