About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer (from Middle to Senior level) to own quality for one of our highest-stakes domains: Payment, the money layer that the entire business runs on. This is an area where a single defect is not just an annoyance, it can mean a wrong charge, a failed subscription, or a balance that does not reconcile.
You will work closely with UI/UX designers, Business Analysts, and Developers to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and overall quality of our products. Depending on your experience level, you will contribute to defining test strategies, executing test cases, mentoring teammates, and driving the QA process across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Process
- Collaborate with UI/UX and Business Analysts to verify the accuracy and completeness of Figma designs and specifications.
- Review specs and designs at kickoff to surface gaps, conflicts, and edge cases before development starts.
- Brainstorm test scenarios, design test cases, and create issue checklists across Booking and Payment flows.
- Maintain a compatibility matrix across platforms (iOS, Android, Web) as part of the definition of done for platform features.
- Provide early and constructive feedback on requirements to prevent defects.
- Champion and enforce QA processes across teams (for more senior levels).
Testing & Issue Management
- Execute functional and regression testing using predefined or newly designed test cases.
- Test at both the API and UI layers, including flows that depend on third-party behavior (Stripe webhooks, async events, retries).
- Identify, document, and track issues clearly in the bug-tracking system.
- Drive strong root cause documentation on bugs, so the team learns from each defect rather than just closing it.
- Use AI tooling to move faster: accelerate test case generation, exploratory coverage, data setup, and triage.
- Prepare and maintain test reports and summaries for QA Lead and stakeholders.
- Produce detailed documentation of test processes and results (for more senior levels).
Collaboration & Release Management
- Work with Developers and Product/BA teams to align on requirements and expected outcomes, and push back when acceptance criteria are not testable.
- Support QA Lead in managing sprint and milestone releases across phased rollout.
- Track releases, hold change-freeze discipline near release, and ensure smooth delivery cycles.
- Mentor and support junior team members, reviewing their tasks and providing feedback (for more senior levels).
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing or Quality Assurance, with increasing responsibilities depending on seniority.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test design, and execution processes.
- Hands-on experience writing and executing manual test cases, with experience in regression and functional testing.
- Solid API testing experience and comfort reading logs, payloads, and webhook flows.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, ClickUp, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- English proficiency at a working to professional level, depending on seniority.
The mindset we are hiring for
- Open-minded. You hold opinions loosely, take input from engineers and PMs well, and change your view when the evidence does.
- AI-first. You already reach for AI tools to do your job better and faster, and you are curious about where they break. You see AI as leverage, not a threat.
- Product taste. You think like a user, not just a tester. You can tell the difference between "technically passes" and "actually good," and you care about the second one.
- Willing to take on new challenges. Booking and Payment are demanding, fast-moving domains. You see ambiguity and high stakes as a reason to lean in, not a reason to hesitate.
Preferred Skills
- Experience testing payment or fintech systems (Stripe, billing, subscriptions, refunds, reconciliation).
- Exposure to a B2B2C or marketplace product.
- Experience testing AI-driven or LLM-powered features.
- Exposure to automation testing tools, API testing, or performance testing frameworks.
