Position: DevOps Lead / Principal Engineer

Job summary: The DevOps Lead / Principal Engineer owns the infrastructure, automation, and operational reliability of VinDynamics’ humanoid robot platform — spanning cloud services, AI workloads, and edge software running on the robot fleet. This role is responsible for designing and operating secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and fleet management systems, while embedding security-by-design (DevSecOps) across the full stack. As the primary technical owner for platform reliability, observability, and security posture, this role works closely with backend, robotics, and AI teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure system operations.
III. REQUIREMENTS
Relevant education and experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Control & Automation Engineering, or related field
8–12+ years of experience in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering, including 3–5+ years in a Lead or Principal role
Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud): VPC, IAM, compute, storage, networking, cost optimization
Deep experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS / GKE / self-managed), Helm, service mesh (Istio / Linkerd)
Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills: Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible; GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux)
Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines at scale (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
Solid observability expertise: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK / OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry
Strong Linux, networking, and real-time communication knowledge (WebSocket, MQTT, gRPC, WebRTC)
Experience with edge / fleet operations: OTA updates, device provisioning, remote diagnostics, rollback strategies
Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation
Strong English and Vietnamese communication skills
Security focus (DevSecOps)
Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles: shift-left security, secure SDLC, security-by-design
Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD: SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning (Trivy, Snyk), IaC scanning (Checkov, tfsec), secret scanning (Gitleaks)
Expertise in secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS/GCP secret services) and key rotation
Experience securing Kubernetes: RBAC, network policies, Pod Security Standards, runtime security (Falco), OPA / Kyverno
Knowledge of zero-trust architecture, mTLS, PKI, and identity federation (OIDC, SSO)
Familiarity with edge/device security: secure boot, signed OTA, device identity, encrypted storage
Understanding of compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, Vietnam data protection laws
Experience with vulnerability management, incident response, and post-mortem practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating large-scale cloud + edge platforms for robotics, IoT, or autonomous systems
Experience with MLOps / AI infrastructure: model serving (Triton, KServe), GPU scheduling, data pipelines
Contributions to open-source DevOps, infrastructure, or security projects
Relevant certifications (CKA, CKS, AWS/GCP Professional, CISSP, OSCP)
Experience in both startup and enterprise environments

IV. JOB DESCRIPTION
Cloud platform & infrastructure
Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure supporting robot control, telemetry, AI services, and applications
Define Infrastructure-as-Code standards and ensure reproducibility, auditability, and cost efficiency
Architect highly available, low-latency, multi-region systems for real-time robot–cloud communication
Define and enforce reliability standards (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets)
Edge / robot fleet operations
Design and operate fleet management systems: provisioning, OTA updates, diagnostics, rollback
Build CI/CD pipelines for both cloud services and on-robot software
Ensure large-scale observability across distributed robot fleets
Collaborate with robotics teams on deployment and lifecycle management
Security & DevSecOps
Own platform security across cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and edge devices
Embed security throughout SDLC: scanning, signed artifacts, SBOM, policy-as-code
Manage secrets, PKI, and zero-trust networking
Harden infrastructure and enforce least-privilege access
Lead vulnerability management, incident response, and security reviews
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and support audits
CI/CD, automation & developer experience
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines across all codebases
Improve developer experience through tooling, templates, and self-service infrastructure
Enforce quality gates and testing standards in deployment pipelines
Observability, reliability & incident management
Design and operate monitoring systems (metrics, logs, traces)
Define on-call practices, runbooks, and incident response processes
Drive reliability improvements via load testing, chaos engineering, and capacity planning
Technical leadership & collaboration
Mentor and develop DevOps / SRE engineers
Collaborate with architects and engineering leaders to align platform with product goals
Partner with product teams to support scaling and future growth
Maintain and evolve DevOps and security architecture
