Position: Back-end Developer
Level: Middle/ Junior
- Key Responsibilities
Development & Maintenance
- Design and develop server-side logic and APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations;
- Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance systems using modern back-end technologies;
- Optimize application performance and reliability through efficient database and server-side programming.
Database Management
- Design, implement, and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and security;
- Write efficient SQL queries and manage database operations (e.g., indexing, migrations, backups);
- Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
System Integration & API Development
- Develop and document RESTful or GraphQL APIs to enable seamless communication between systems;
- Integrate with third-party services, SDKs, and APIs as required;
- Ensure APIs are secure, well-documented, and optimized for performance.
Testing & Debugging
- Perform thorough testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests;
- Identify and debug issues in the application to ensure smooth operation.
Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the front and back ends;
- Work with DevOps teams to deploy and monitor back-end services;
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience);
- 2 - 5 years of experience in back-end development with a strong portfolio or examples of previous work.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in at least one back-end programming language, Golang preferred (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Ruby, Go, PHP);
- Experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, Express, Spring Boot, or Laravel;
- Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL);
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes;
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT);
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices;
- Familiarity with serverless architecture;
- Understanding of microservices architecture;
- Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
