ABOUT THE VINGROUP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

The Vingroup Science and Technology Scholarship Program for Overseas Study for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees (the ‘Scholarship Program’) was established by Vingroup with a mission to find talents and provide them with rewarding opportunities so that they can lead and advance the development of science and technology in Vietnam in the future. The official information about the Scholarship Program is available at https://scholarships.vinuni.edu.vn/. The Scholarship Program is managed and administered by VinUniversity.

VinUniversity is also managing the “Đồng Hành” Scholarship Program by Vingroup to support students from some select universities in Vietnam during their undergraduate programs.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Global Engagement Specialist (Scholarship Programs) is an integral member of the Global Engagement Department of VinUniversity. The post holder will be tasked with executing activities related to the administration and execution of the different activities of the Vingroup Science and Technology Scholarship Program, the “Dong Hanh” Scholarship Program as well as general academic engagement responsibilities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing support to the Vingroup scholarship application and selection process, including administering the online scholarship management system, preparing for interviews, communicating results, and conducting follow-up activities including handling paperwork as required.
• Promoting the Vingroup Scholarship Programs and coordinating the marketing activities, including written and visual content for social media engagement.
• Responding to inquiries from scholars, nominees, applicants, partner universities, and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, serving as the point of contact for Vingroup Scholars and Nominees, applicants and external stakeholders.
• Monitoring the academic performance of the Vingroup Scholars and the status of the Alumni and supporting them with the re-integration process.
• Managing the Program‘s financial operations, including budget planning, tracking and processing relevant payments, including tuition fees, monthly stipend disbursements, and other operational expenditures in accordance with the Program‘s policies.
• Managing scholarship partnerships and programs under the Vingroup Scholarship Program, including the Vingroup Young Talent Scholarship at Singapore Management University (SMU), the Vingroup Graduate Scholarship at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and the "Dong Hanh" Scholarship in collaboration with Vietnamese universities.
• Coordinating scholar engagement initiatives, including pre-departure orientations, scholarship award ceremonies, networking events, and community-building activities for scholars and alumni.
• Supporting partnership development and external engagement activities by coordinating with universities, faculty members, academic partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and scholar development opportunities.
• Maintaining accurate scholarship records and databases, including scholarship agreements, scholars’ performance and status, payment progress, and other program documentation.
• Managing the Scholarship Program’s website and the internal online management system.
• Providing support to VinUniversity‘s global engagement activities as required.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university. Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
• At least 03 years working experience in program administration, executive assistance at an international development organization, non-profit agency, university, international education organization.
• Demonstrate experience in meeting organization, project planning, financial literacy, and task prioritization.
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for contributing to develop a world-class education in Vietnam and have a strong commitment in managing a long-haul program.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Highly developed communication skills including; well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, networking skills and coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Vietnamese.
• Excellent computer literacy skills – MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good analytical skills and ability to manage budget and navigate accounting practices.
• Good time management skills, resilience, ability to multi-task effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Adaptability, proactivity and flexibility are key assets.
• Well-organized person and a team player.
• Ability to provide exemplary account management and responsiveness to a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Vietnamese.
