About the role GreenNode is VNG Cloud's cloud infrastructure arm and an NVIDIA Cloud Partner. You will design and develop the backend services behind our core cloud products — virtual machine management, Load Balancer, IAM, storage, networking, and the control-plane services that provision and orchestrate infrastructure resources at scale.
Key Responsibilities Design and build backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs in Java (Spring Boot) for cloud control-plane products. Develop resource lifecycle and orchestration logic — provisioning, state reconciliation, quota management, and asynchronous workflows. Implement API gateway logic — authentication/authorization, rate limiting, quota enforcement, and request routing. Build event-driven pipelines (Kafka) for resource events, usage metering, billing, and platform telemetry. Optimize database queries, caching layers, and service performance under high-throughput, multi-tenant workloads. Instrument services for production observability (metrics, logs, traces) and participate in on-call/incident response. Collaborate with frontend, SRE/infrastructure, and platform teams to ship end-to-end features.
Technical Requirements (Must-Haves) Language & Framework: Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (Spring Web, Spring Data, Spring Security). Solid grasp of JVM concurrency, memory model, and GC behavior. Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm). Databases: Strong SQL skills (MySQL/PostgreSQL) including query and index optimization; practical experience with Redis and at least one NoSQL/OLAP store (MongoDB, ClickHouse). Architecture: Distributed systems fundamentals, message brokers (Kafka), and event-driven design patterns. Quality: Unit/integration testing, code review discipline, and production debugging skills.
Nice-to-Have Working knowledge of Go for tooling, operators, or performance-critical services (we run a polyglot stack; Java is primary). Experience with OpenStack (Nova, Cinder, Neutron, Keystone), Ceph, or building/consuming cloud provider APIs. Familiarity with identity and access management concepts — RBAC, OAuth2/OIDC, policy engines, multi-tenant isolation. Experience with load balancing / networking data planes (HAProxy, Envoy, Nginx) or SDN. Observability stack experience: Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, OpenTelemetry. Workflow orchestration engines (Temporal, Cadence) for long-running provisioning tasks.
General Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 3+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily on the JVM. Strong problem-solving skills and English proficiency sufficient for technical documentation and cross-team collaboration.
