Job description

• As a Lead Software Engineer – Mobile (iOS), you will take ownership of the design, architecture, and delivery of our iOS applications across the Apple ecosystem. You will be responsible not only for building high-performance, secure, and scalable mobile solutions, but also for setting technical direction, driving engineering excellence, and leading the iOS team members.

• You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Design, Backend, QA, Security, DevOps) to align technical execution with business goals. In addition to being a hands-on contributor, you will mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality, secure, and impactful products.

Key responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

• Own the end-to-end iOS architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term evolution of the platform 

• Define and enforce coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices across the iOS team 

• Drive technical decision-making, including trade-offs between performance, security, and time-to-market 

• Lead technical planning and estimation, ensuring alignment with product roadmap and delivery timelines 

• Act as the primary point of contact for all iOS-related technical decisions and escalations

Hands-on Development:

• Design, build and maintain the end-to-end implementations that protect user privacy and user’s daily activities on digital platforms across the entire Apple ecosystem.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Backend, SOC, etc.) to deliver the secure, high-performance implementations aligned with the team’s overall strategy.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Performance Optimization:

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the iOS applications.

• Conduct research into Apple’s privacy frameworks to ensure our solution is both effective and fully policy compliant.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Build secure mobile solutions with strong understanding of encryption, secure storage, and anti-tampering techniques.

• Apply modern iOS architecture patterns (Clean Architecture / modularization) to build scalable and maintainable protection modules.

• Ensure thread safety and performance using Swift Concurrency (actors, Sendable, structured concurrency).

• Integrate with backend-driven threat intelligence systems and continuously update on-device protection logic.

• Implement observability, logging, and monitoring systems to track app performance and security effectiveness.

• Contribute to automated testing strategies, including edge-case and security-related scenarios.

• Mentor and coach other junior engineers, helping them grow their iOS skills.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience developing iOS applications in Swift (SwiftUI & UIKit)

• Practical experience with SwiftUI.

• Experience with Swift Concurrency, Combine, or Reactive frameworks.

• Experience with architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, VIP, Clean Architecture).

• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Swift Testing).

• Experience with building large-scale, high-performance iOS applications

• Experience with CI/CD, unit/UI testing, and performance profiling tools (e.g., Instruments, Xcode profiler).

• Proven experience designing and implementing robust networking layers (REST, WebSockets, gRPC, GraphQL, etc.).

• Good understanding of security best practices: SSL pinning, certificate management, secure data storage, authentication flows.

• Familiarity with background networking, offline support, and data synchronization.

• Experience leading or mentoring engineers and driving code quality through reviews and standards

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.

• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have:

• Strong product sense and customer empathy.

• Experience with map-based products and location-driven user experiences.

• Good understanding of real-time GPS tracking, location accuracy, update frequency, battery impact, and poor-signal scenarios.

• Understanding of subscription and freemium products

• Strong understanding of privacy, consent, and location-sharing UX.

• Able to challenge unclear requirements and propose better product solutions.

• Fluency in English is a plus.
