ABOUT POSITION
Faculty of Health Sciences – Nursing, is a full-time research focused position at College of Health Sciences and offers the opportunity to work with research centers within Innovation in Health Sciences Research cluster.

The research focus is on healthy living across the lifespan addresses pressing global health challenges through a nursing science lens — including symptom science and management, patient- and family-centered care, chronic disease self-management, and care coordination — across areas such as aging, mental health, cancer, cardiovascular disease, women’s and child health, nutrition, environmental health, and antimicrobial resistance.

Successful candidates are expected to possess a strong academic background or research experience in one or more relevant nursing and health sciences disciplines, such as clinical/symptom science, gerontological nursing, oncology nursing, psychiatric-mental health nursing, maternal-child or community/public health nursing, and nursing informatics, with the capacity to engage in interdisciplinary and translational research alongside colleagues in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, implementation science, health economics, policy management.

ABOUT COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

A leader in health sciences research, The College of Health Sciences (CHS) pioneers research on immunology, regenerative medicine, precision medicine, population health, systems science, and health technology.  Through its partnership with Vinmec, Vietnam’s premier private healthcare system, CHS integrates education, research, and clinical practice via joint research centers and access to real-world clinical data.

Developed in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania, CHS offers internationally accredited curricula (by ACGME, ACEN), distinguished faculty, and modern facilities.

ABOUT INNOVATION IN HEALTH SCIENCES RESEARCH CLUSTER

The Innovation in Health Sciences cluster at VinUniversity unites six research centers, advancing stem cell and regenerative medicine, smart health solutions, immunology, and 3D technologies. By integrating biomedical sciences, data-driven health technologies, and population research—and leveraging Vinmec Healthcare’s clinical and data resources—the cluster drives innovations across cancer, aging, mental and environmental health, nutrition, and antimicrobial resistance, translating discoveries into improved health outcomes in Vietnam and globally.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The faculty members will be responsible for three primary responsibilities: 

1. Research

• Lead high-impact research with strong translational outcomes and publications in top-tier journals and secure competitive external funding.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond the College through active engagement in academic events.
• Contribute to innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer, including commercialization efforts.

 

2. Teaching

• Develop, plan, and deliver high-quality, accredited curricula for undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
• Supervise research students and projects and mentor junior faculty.

 

3. Service

• Contribute to university service through committee work, faculty recruitment, accreditation, and program development.
• Support initiatives aligned with VinUni’s Vision 2030 and carry out duties assigned by the Dean.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

General Requirements (All Faculty Levels)

• Degree: PhD in nursing (or a closely related discipline, e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, etc, with a demonstrated nursing/clinical research focus) from a prestigious university. Candidates with a DNP plus a strong independent research record will also be considered.Teaching: Demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to student-centered, active and authentic learning , ideally within undergraduate or graduate nursing curricula.
• Research: Evidence of scholarly achievement or strong potential through publications in reputable, peer-reviewed nursing and/or health sciences journals; engagement in international nursing conferences or research collaborations; and commitment to developing an independent, externally funded research program.
• Service/Industry Engagement: Experience in multinational, multicultural, or start-up environments is highly valued; engagement with professional nursing bodies (e.g., editorial boards, national/international nursing associations) is a plus.

Specific Requirements by Rank

• Assistant Professor
  Postdoctoral or equivalent experience is preferable. Demonstrated potential for high-quality, independent research, and effective teaching. International research engagement is an advantage.
• Associate Professor
  Extensive teaching experience with recognized excellence; sustained record of publications and leadership in the discipline; success in securing research funding as Principal Investigator for at least five years; and active participation in professional societies.
• Professor
  Internationally recognized academic and research leadership; substantial, sustained record of high-impact, funded research for ten years or more; keynote presentations, awards, or honors for research excellence; and distinguished teaching and mentorship experience.
