About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Robotics Perception Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced 3D perception systems for industrial robotic automation. The selected candidate will be responsible for building robust perception pipelines, object recognition frameworks, pose estimation modules, and scene understanding algorithms that support intelligent manipulation and autonomous robotic behaviors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize 3D perception algorithms for industrial robotic applications.
Construct pipelines for object detection, segmentation, 6D pose estimation, and multi-object tracking.
Integrate and synchronize multi-modal sensor data from RGB-D, stereo, LiDAR, and structured-light cameras.
Design, implement, and deploy real-time perception software for production environments.
Collaborate with manipulation engineering teams to provide high-quality perception outputs for grasp planning and motion execution.
Evaluate, test, and recommend sensors, cameras, and associated perception hardware.
Build simulation environments and synthetic data pipelines as required for algorithm validation.
Develop internal tools for dataset generation, annotation workflows, and performance benchmarking.
Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and system architecture specifications.
Required Qualifications
MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in robotic perception, 3D vision, or sensor fusion.
Strong proficiency in 3D vision algorithms including ICP, point-cloud processing, and registration techniques.
Expertise in object detection, 6D pose estimation, tracking, and scene understanding.
Advanced programming proficiency in C++ and Python for high-performance perception systems.
Experience with ROS/ROS2, OpenCV, PCL, and related perception and robotics frameworks.
Demonstrated success deploying perception systems in production-grade robotic applications.
Preferred Skills
Experience with deep learning approaches for perception using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Knowledge of multi-modal sensor fusion techniques and probabilistic estimation frameworks.
Background in camera calibration, intrinsic and extrinsic parameter modeling, and 3D reconstruction.
Familiarity with simulation tools such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or Unity-based simulation environments.
Understanding of lighting control, optical configurations, and industrial imaging considerations.
Experience with real-time constraints, GPU acceleration, and embedded/perception hardware.
