Test Automation Engineer

Job Description

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will enhance product quality and accelerate release speeds by designing, implementing, and continuously improving automated tests. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to shift verification left and make testing more repeatable and reliable through automation and optimized operational practices.

Responsibilities

Test automation design & implementation (E2E / regression / integration, etc.)

Work with engineers to create comprehensive test scenarios and implement them as automated tests.

Own core testing activities from test planning/design through execution, and promote automation from multiple testing perspectives (e.g., regression and progression testing).

CI/CD collaboration (continuous testing enablement)

Contribute to embedding tests into CI workflows and continuously improving integration.

Analyze test results and feedback patterns to strengthen quality and accelerate delivery decisions.

Test environment & operations improvement (TestOps-oriented work)

Improve test environments and the operational aspects of test execution (stability, troubleshooting, re-runs, and maintainability).

Contribute to selecting/introducing tools and solving testing issues using engineering skills.

Defect reporting & collaboration with development teams

Provide clear, actionable defect reports and collaborate with engineers to drive fixes efficiently.

Must Have

5+ years of experience in a similar role.

Ability to communicate in English and Japanese is essential.

Hands-on experience in at least part of the test lifecycle (test planning, test design, execution).

Experience in test automation or strong motivation to build and operate automated testing in real projects.

Strong collaboration skills to work with engineering teams and resolve quality/testing issues together.

API testing experience; understanding of automation test frameworks (mobile or full-stack).

Experience improving test environments (setup, stability, execution reliability).

DevOps-related experience, especially test automation and CI/CD improvement.

Performance/load testing experience; familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
