Role Mission and General Characteristics
R&D Senior Test Engineer performing as a technical expert in the design, development and maintenance of automated testing solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our products
The Senior Test Engineer combines strong software development expertise with quality engineering practices and requires working closely with Developers, Product Managers/PMO, DevOps engineers, and QA teams.
Role Main activities
- Contribute to the validation-test plans, perform measurements and functional tests on prototypes, assuring full coverage of all requirements;
- Ensure technical documentation are kept up to date and stored in accordance with departmental procedures;
- Embrace innovation culture of our Company, contributing to generate invention disclosures and to scout/evaluate novel and differentiating technologies;
- Participate in the maintenance of existing products, with the aim also to solve problems arisen from field or production.
Job Details & Specifications
- Design, develop and maintain automated test infrastructure/frameworks that improve productivity and quality. Improve test coverage through automation of functional, integration, regression and end-to-end test.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to define comprehensive test strategies. Ensure software meets quality, reliability, usability, and performance requirements.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including coding standards, version control, and design patterns. Contribute to improving application testability and maintainability.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Support continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives. Improve release readiness through quality gates and automated validation processes.
- Collaborate in design, code reviews and inspections to ensure the testability of code and adherence to coding standards that facilitate automated testing.
- Create and maintain documentation related to automated test cases, test plans, and test results to support knowledge sharing and transparency.

Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of software development lifecyle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Python or TypeScript
- Experience in test automation frameworks such as PlayWright, RobotFramework
- Experience of Linux, Git, JFrog and Jenkins
- Experience with API testing, integration testing, and business logic validation
- Experience using AI-assisted coding and testing tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Knowledge of industrial protocols such as ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, etc.,
Soft Skills
- Planning and time management
- Experience in managing a small team (3-5 people) is a big plus
- Excellent communication skills: the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and team working
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to exploring emerging technologies and driving innovation in product quality.
