I. MAIN RESPONSIBILITY
A. Test Analysis & Planning
- Elicit and analyze business requirements from key stakeholders; assess proposed solutions and their potential impact.
- Define testing objectives, quality criteria, and oversee the full testing and follow-up process.
- Design Data Test Cases and test scenarios for ETL/ELT systems and Data Pipelines.
- Develop and maintain testing artifacts: test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.
B. Test Execution
- Perform data testing covering Data Validation, Data Integrity, and Data Transformation across multiple sources.
- Execute Manual UI, API, Mobile/Web, Performance, Automation, and Non-functional Testing (Load Testing).
- Test and validate Machine Learning models, Data Pipelines, and AI-integrated features.
- Identify and report data defects, inconsistencies, and anomalies in data flows and processing logic.
C. Automation & Optimization
- Write and maintain automated data test scripts in Python, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop automation test scripts using available frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework).
- Research and propose new tools and techniques (e.g., dbt, Spark, Airflow, Trino, Dremio) to optimize Data Platform testing efficiency.
D. Defect Tracking & Team Collaboration
- Log bugs, assess severity, and track defect status in JIRA following defined workflows.
- Perform root-cause analysis on failures and implement improvements to minimize or eliminate recurring defects.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and Business Analysts to identify and resolve data issues.
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum methodologies in software development and deployment.
- Self-manage personal workload and report progress regularly to the team and project leader.
II. REUIRED EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
A. Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field (required).
- 5–8 years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years of hands-on expertise in data testing on large-scale systems.
- Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum).
- Advantage: Prior experience in Banking, Finance, or Fintech projects (e.g., payment gateways, data reporting systems).
B. Technical Skills – Required
- Proficient in ETL/ELT testing techniques, Data Validation, and Data Integrity testing.
- Advanced SQL skills (Oracle, MySQL); experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Experience automating data tests using Python.
- Solid understanding of API testing with Postman/Newman and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
- Strong knowledge of Data Models and Data Pipelines.
- Comprehensive understanding of all test cycle phases: functional, regression, integration, performance, acceptance, load, black/white box, and automation testing.
C. Technical Skills – Nice to Have
- Experience in AI testing: validating Machine Learning models, Data Pipelines, or AI-integrated features.
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework).
- Hands-on experience with Big Data tools and platforms (e.g., dbt, Spark, Airflow, Trino, Dremio).
D. Soft Skills
- Strong logical thinking, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.
- Proactive attitude, high sense of ownership, and ability to perform under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders (IT, Business, Data Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
