WHAT YOU OWN
Delivery Metrics & Forecasting
- Track velocity, capacity allocation, and delivery health as leading indicators - you catch a miss before it happens, not after
- Own capacity planning per sprint across workstreams; maintain roadmap visibility for stakeholders
- Coordinate quarterly planning
Requirements & Quality Gates
- Ensure readiness before commitment - whole team on the same page about commitments
- Maintain the tooling that keeps work visible and blockers surfaced early, not silently absorbed
Change & Conflict
- Assess scope/priority change impact before it lands on the team
- Resolve conflict between Product and Engineering - decisions get recorded, not relitigated
Cross-Timezone Ownership
- Own the async cadence across a 12-hour gap
- Enforce response-window SLAs on blockers - nothing ages silently
SIGNAL OF SUCCESS
- Blockers have an owner and an age, always
- Retros produce actions, not venting
- Product and Engineering both feel protected, not policed
- You'd notice a slipping sprint two weeks before anyone else does
WHAT YOU BRING
- Track record as SM or delivery lead, preferably on distributed, cross-timezone teams
- Knowledge of software development cycle, AI-accelerated workflows
- Fluency in why the process exists, not just how to run it - you'll be asked to defend or evolve it, not just execute it
- Judgment on escalate-vs-absorb - you protect the team without becoming the bottleneck
- You read sprint metrics as signal, not scorecard, and can tell stakeholders which number actually predicts the miss
- CSM, POSM, PMP, SaaS experience, AI workflow design is an advantage
We know imposter syndrome can be REAL when applying for a new role, but please don't let the confidence gap prevent you from taking a leap and applying for your dream job. Your future self will thank you!
