We are looking for a Senior JavaScript API Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale a modern Partner API Platform that enables external partners to integrate seamlessly through secure REST APIs and Webhooks.
In this role, you will develop API products with a strong focus on scalability, security, reliability, and developer experience. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to define API standards and deliver high-quality integration capabilities.
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance REST APIs using Node.js and NestJS or Express.
Build and enhance Partner APIs, Webhooks, and event-driven integration services.
Design and implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth2, JWT, and API Keys.
Develop scalable microservices and cloud-native applications on AWS.
Configure and manage API Gateway solutions to ensure secure and reliable API access.
Define API contracts, versioning strategies, and integration standards in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
Produce and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.
Ensure API quality through automated testing, monitoring, logging, and CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve API performance, availability, and security.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of backend development experience using JavaScript/TypeScript.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and NestJS or Express.
Proven experience designing and developing public-facing APIs or API platforms.
Solid understanding of RESTful API design, Webhooks, API versioning, and API lifecycle management.
Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies, including OAuth2, JWT, and API Keys.
Experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
Strong understanding of software design principles, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
Good English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team and participate in technical discussions.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience building Payment Gateway, FinTech, SaaS, or Developer Platforms.
Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SNS/SQS.
Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger and API documentation.
