We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in automotive electronics and software development to lead the technical execution of automotive product development projects.
In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional development teams, steer product requirements and release milestones, manage technical risks and changes, and act as a key technical interface with internal and external customers. You will work closely with project management, engineering domains, test teams, and functional leaders to ensure product maturity and delivery targets are achieved.
ABOUT THE JOB
Technical & Project Management
- Lead the evaluation, alignment, and agreement of technical customer product requirements, including intended and normal conditions of use.
- Plan and drive product release milestones, review activities, and technical deliverables in collaboration with the core project team and relevant domain management.
- Act as a key technical interface toward internal and external customers, including technical clarification, change evaluation, and plausibility checks.
- Coordinate and steer fault and change management activities between internal teams and customers.
- Lead cross-functional alignment across engineering domains and development teams, including collaboration models, responsibilities, and ways of working.
- Steer system integration planning to ensure product maturity progresses according to the product engineering process and define corrective measures for deviations.
- Define and steer the product test strategy in alignment with system integration planning and the overall Test Manager.
- Ensure product functionality and compliance with agreed requirements based on testing results, including actively driving ASIL conformity and functional safety considerations.
- Define and manage technical risk management throughout product development and provide technical risk input to the overall Project Manager.
- Drive cross-functional technical alignment across all development domains and system/component teams.
- Act as the first escalation and decision level for resolving technical conflicts.
- Escalate critical technical topics to the Change Control Board (CCB), management, and/or steering committee when required.
- Own the technical Change Control process and drive decisions on technical solutions when resolution cannot be achieved at domain level, involving relevant technical experts and competence leaders as required.
- Align technical decisions with the Project Manager based on their impact on Quality, Cost, and Time (QCT).
- Support the Project Manager with commercial change management and technical impact assessments.
- Continuously optimize and further develop engineering and project processes to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and steer functions and engineering domains through Product Development Team meetings and Project Steering Meetings.
- Provide forward-looking guidance and proactively identify dependencies, risks, and required actions in alignment with functional leadership.
- Guide, instruct, and support team members in role-related activities and technical/project execution.
- Foster effective collaboration across engineering disciplines and ensure clear alignment on priorities, decisions, and responsibilities.
- Perform other duties related to the position, including ensuring compliance with applicable industrial safety and environmental protection requirements within the scope of responsibilities.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 5–6+ years of professional experience in automotive electronics or a related automotive technology environment.
- Solid experience and understanding of software development in the automotive industry.
- Experience working in cross-functional, multi-domain automotive product development projects.
- Good understanding of system integration, testing, technical risk management, and change control.
- Knowledge of functional safety / ASIL and automotive development processes is highly preferred.
- Strong project coordination, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead discussions, manage technical conflicts, and drive alignment across multiple engineering teams.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
